Testimonials

“Life deals us many hard blows that we often don’t expect. I admire the fact that someone like Stacey Chillemi was thrown a curve ball that may have knocked many of us down to the point where many of us may not have wanted to get back up, but she did. It wasn’t easy but she possesses a determined spirit that won’t let her give up. For that reason, Stacey will go far and achieve whatever dreams she sets her mind to accomplish.”

“Thank you Stacey Chillemi for the wonderful message and growth you have added to my life from your book “Empower Yourself!” The empowerment message you have given me and so many others in this world that currently deal with epilepsy and/or have battled epilepsy as I have in my past are AmaZing…from A-Z! After a 25-year battle with epilepsy and surviving brain surgery myself, I have now been helping others as you have and it is wonderful to connect with you as we grow even further in fueling this world with a new love for life in life through life with life!”

ABOUT THE BOOK

If you suffer from a chronic illness, you know how difficult it can be to deal with the constant obstacles and lack of control. It’s easy to feel depressed, angry, and isolated when no one around you understands what you’re going through. You may even lose self-esteem and not love the person you see in the mirror anymore. But it is possible to empower yourself and take back control of your life. Stacey has outlined these steps to retrain your mind and start living life on your own terms:

1. Understand that you are not your illness. Just because you have epilepsy or another chronic illness does not mean that’s all there is to you. You are so much more than your diagnosis.

2. Change the way you think about your illness. Instead of looking at it as a negative force in your life, try to see it as something that makes you unique and special. Embrace it as part of who you are.

3. Take control of your life. Don’t let your illness dictate how you live. If there’s something you want to do, find a way to make it happen. Don’t let anything stand in your way.

4. Be positive. It may take a while to gain control over your self-esteem and illness. But when you do, you’ll enjoy all that life has to offer.

Stacey has been through a lot living with epilepsy, but she has never given up. She has persevered through all the challenges and obstacles epilepsy has put in her way and has come out stronger on the other side. Stacey wants to share her story with you to see that it is possible to take control of your life and live a positive, fulfilling life despite epilepsy or any other obstacle you may face. She has been seen on the Doctor Oz show and has spent thousands of hours on the radio sharing her story and helping others overcome their fears and obstacles. She has also written over 20 books on epilepsy, success, and taking control of your life. No matter what challenges you face, Stacey can help you see that it is possible to overcome them and live a fulfilled life.

AN ENDNOTE FROM STACEY CHILLEMI

You have a good idea of what this book is, but I want to be very specific about what this book is NOT (I realize this section may be redundant and unnecessary, but I put it in any way):

This is NOT a “how to be Stacey Chillemi” book.

I touched on this in the intro, but I want to be very clear: though I’m very proud of my writing and how I helped hundreds of people in course of my career, there is a segment of my readership that drives and empowers my internal self. It is the lost soul who found her way home. I see my books as guidebooks on how to identify who you are, accept your flaws, love yourself for who you are, and then empower yourself to create the drive and determination to overcome your obstacles and accomplish your dreams.  My readers see me as a hero not because I carved my path in life or because I am an informative writer.  They think I’m a hero because I went from feeling like I was hopeless to a strong woman with a purpose in life.

I HATE THIS.

Part of the reason I was inspired to write this book is that I think it can correct these false and damaging ideas people have, and many of them get them from the media or false information provided by word of mouth.

Don’t misunderstand, I am not trying to use this book to “show off what I have achieved”. But what I am trying to do is show people that there is a way to feel awesome and overcome the obstacles you have to deal with daily. As wonderful as someone may be so many people underestimate themselves, focus on the negative and choose to give up on life itself. And I can only speculate that it’s because they didn’t have something like Empower Yourself and Not Let Your Condition Empower You to explicitly explain this stuff to them. They had no step-by-step guidance, so they can go from feeling hopeless to being empowered with the inner strength to accomplish whatever they set their mind to.

I think ANY mother or father would be proud to hand this book to their high school-aged child and tell them to read and internalize not just the facts, but the message as well: That the whole point of life is for men and women to be proud of who they are and to realize that anything is possible if you have a passion and a will to achieve it, and I want to help them do that the best way possible.
